Albania has many opportunities for workers in every category – long term, short term and apprenticeships. We welcome Albanian nationals as well as missionaries from our sending countries. Most are expected to have completed a Bible College course or have a proven experience in relevant work. Longer-term - Opportunities exist in each of our locations – the capital Tirana, Lushnje, Fier and Patos. In particular, we are looking for:
- Team Leaders able to motivate a mix of missionaries and local believers in all aspects of church work and outreach. These positions are ideal for couples desiring to work together in an existing church situation.
- Career missionaries able to contribute in bible teaching, discipling and evangelism. There are opportunities for working amongst men, women, young and elderly
- Those able to offer skills in various aspects of community work – business enterprise, disabilities, language teaching, social work
- Someone to work amongst University students in Tirana
Short-term - Opportunities are a continuing feature of ministry in Albania
- Each year we have several teams in Albania. Normally they come as a team organised by a church or organisation. They come for a variety of purposes – evangelism, language camps, building projects – and its not just the young! Older people are respected in Albania and evangelistic teams of experienced Christians can do a great deal.
- Individuals with particular skills can also be accommodated, normally for periods of 6 months, 1 year or 2 years.
- Ministry opportunities continue to be a feature of our work. A number of experienced Pastors have contributed a few weeks at a time to provide teaching and encouraging to existing and future leaders. These have been invaluable to helping the emerging church in Albania.
- Apprenticeship Scheme - an Apprenticeship scheme lasting 1 or 2 years was recently launched for Albania. Bible College students who have completed their course can experience missionary life at first hand whilst following a learning programme of language, cultural adaptation, skills acquisition (church planting, evangelism, English teaching, community work etc) all under the supervision of experienced missionaries.

Albania's Communist dictator, Enver Hoxha, proclaimed his country to be the world's first truly atheistic state. Under Hoxha's rule, Captain Berti Dosti was one of the elite who served on a communications team monitoring Albania's borders for American incursions. However, this diligent soldier left his country unguarded for 15 minutes a week as he regularly tuned into Trans World Radio's broadcasts, ultimately becoming a believer. Had he been discovered he would probably have been shot. Yet this young man with a growing faith continued to listen and would later pioneer the rebuilding of Albania's wrecked society.
