Like many mission agencies, ECM depends entirely upon the freewill financial support of individual donors. Some support is received from churches, other groups and Christian trusts, but the mainstay of our financial resources comes from individual supporters.

ECM is a ‘faith mission’. It is only by relying on God’s providence through His people, that we can and do exist. In recent years we have been more proactive in sharing our needs with supporters and inviting them to consider helping us meet these needs. But we are still very much living by faith and prayer.

While income from trusts and legacies are important, these resources are by nature unpredictable, and produce peaks and troughs in our income. We also try to maintain more stable, steady forms of regular income in order to be sure we have the means to pay salaries and other core costs of running the organisation.

We recognise that people are in different financial situations and are able to contribute in different ways and at different times. Some families enjoy dual incomes, others are unemployed; some are struggling on state pensions or benefits. Likewise, our financial commitments will also differ over the years. We are also aware that many support a wide range of Christian mission work both at home and overseas.
