ECM work in Germany has two foci: working with refugees in the Southwest, and church planting in the vicinity of Rostock in the Northeast. The team is comprised of workers from Germany, Ireland, England and Sri Lanka.
Germany lies in the heart and center of Europe: the very bridge between East and West. From its position on the North Sea and Baltic Seas, South to the mountains of the Alps, united Germany today with its 82 million people is the economic engine of Europe.
Germany has had a tumultuous history since Martin Luther ignited the Reformation in 1517. Its division into East and West for 44 years has stamped the German people in different ways, and while the nation is reunited politically, it will take decades or perhaps a generation or more for the peoples to be one again.
