Kosova is one of our newer ECM works with its center in the town of Peja (previously known as Pèc) in the west of the region. The ECM team comprises of workers from Kosova, Ireland and USA. Each year people from many countries come to assist with a variety of projects and activities such as evangelistic campaigns, counselling, camps, building projects, English teaching, preaching and bible teaching.

The region, though largely peaceful, is still recovering from the war of 1999 which saw over 10,000 civilians killed, a million ethnic Albanians fled as refugees to surrounding countries, and extensive damage to property throughout the region. Kosova’s status is still in question, officially part of Serbia but maintained as a separate entity by NATO troops. Some 3,000 people are still officially missing. Over 90% of the population would now claim to be ethnically Albanian.

Albania's Communist dictator, Enver Hoxha, proclaimed his country to be the world's first truly atheistic state. Under Hoxha's rule, Captain Berti Dosti was one of the elite who served on a communications team monitoring Albania's borders for American incursions. However, this diligent soldier left his country unguarded for 15 minutes a week as he regularly tuned into Trans World Radio's broadcasts, ultimately becoming a believer. Had he been discovered he would probably have been shot. Yet this young man with a growing faith continued to listen and would later pioneer the rebuilding of Albania's wrecked society.
