Although ECM has had a presence in Spain from 1933 before the Franco era, real growth in the work did not begin until 1978 when the political situation allowed a church planting strategy to be implemented in Cordoba province. ECM now has workers in Cordoba, Madrid and Castellon. CordobaOur first objective in the province is to plant a church in each town with more than 5000 inhabitants and no evangelical testimony. This has been a great challenge to the believers in Cordoba and the ECM team. At present there are 6 places where the word of God is preached. Seeking to give a visible answer to the love of Christ, the Good Samaritan association was founded in 1993 by ECM missionaries to rehabilitate drug addicts. The work has been richly blessed, has rehabilitated many, and brought many others to the Lord. MadridA large part of the administration for ECM International is concentrated in the Spanish capital, Madrid. Here mission staff administer planning, development, equipping, training, pastoral care and administration in the service of ECMI field missionaries Europe-wide. Albania and Romania are places where Spanish teams have helped ECM missionaries. CastellonThis is ECM’s most recent work, planting churches in cooperation with other mission agencies. Each year the Lord has graciously allowed us to reach new towns for Christ: El Grao and Onda. Now new towns are waiting to be reached- the most important towns first. As in Cordoba we need more full time and part time missionaries. Evangelism, social work, young people’s and adolescents work, are all needed in the in the market places, churches, and other locations. In the same way that ECM missionaries are dedicating their lives to spread the gospel throughout Europe, Castellon needs you.
