Piraeus has the largest Port in Greece and one of the busiest passengers Ports in Europe. Our church is located 4 blogs from the Port. In Greece as we are in the midst of the Financial and Refugee crisis our purpose as a church is to be “salt” and “light” in the world and to let our light shine before others, so that they may see our good works and give glory to our Father who is in heaven. (Mat.5:13-16)
The Mercy Center will be help us to be visible in our community by serving all the immigrants and marginalized with the gospel of peace! Our goal is do justice and to show mercy to all by caring for their physical needs (food, showers, laundry etc.), their social needs (through a community of love and acceptance) and their spiritual needs by providing opportunities to learn about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to disciple them (Bible studies, testimonies, Christian movies, etc.).
In order to accomplish our mission we need regular support to pay the rent of the Mercy Centre (€3,500 a year), and some funds to help setup and equip the centre (€1,500).
