The "Good Samaritan" association was born in 1993 with the purpose of demonstrating Jesus Christ´s love to those affected by various addictions. Its purpose is to prevent drug use/abuse, to provide assistance to those affected by drug abuse, teaching prevention to their families and the social environment and finally, to help people in the process of recovery from drug/substance abuse to facilitate their re-integration into society.
In the last 20 years, the team has developed programs to give social guidance and care to the socially excluded. They are also involved in food distribution and care for people in social emergencies. All this takes place in the different places where we are present in Spain, having helped over 400 men and women directly.
The "Buen Samaritano" technical team is made up professionals, volunteers and missionaries of various nationalities and all have multidisciplinary approaches. The rehabilitation center is ona property of about 12 acres, where they produce and sell ecological-extra-virgin olive oil as a form of self-financing and self-sustainability (for more information, consult www.buensam.org).
This ministry is fully integrated into ECM´s approach to church planting and works closely with other local churches of Spain. This association is the social branch of the Evangelical Missionary Andalusian Church (IEMA in Spanish), created in 1986 to be the national expression of the ministry of the European Christian Mission in the Cordoba and Andalucia regions.
The rehabilitation center also runs camps for children and teens. Volunteer groups are welcomed to support and collaborate on specific projects. If you are interested in join or would like to receive more information about this association, please reach out at www.buensam.org
